Privacy policy

What this covers

This policy is about this website, the one you are reading. It does not cover what happens in one of our stores, or anything Metro by T-Mobile collects when you buy a phone or a plan. Metro is a separate company with its own privacy policy.

What we collect

Only what you type in, plus the ordinary technical records any website keeps.

• If you send us a message on the contact page: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and the message itself.
• If you apply for a job: your name, email address, phone number, the hours you want, when you can start, whether you can work weekends and evenings, languages you speak, how you get to work, your experience, anything you write about yourself, and your resume if you attach one.
• If a store or a rep referred you: which store, and the rep code if they gave you one, so the right person gets the credit.
• Technical records: our server logs the usual request information, which includes IP addresses. These are operational logs, not a profile of you.

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, a Social Security number, a date of birth, a bank account or anything similar through this website. Nothing here needs it.

Why we collect it, and who sees it

To answer you, and to hire. Nothing on this site feeds advertising.

• A contact message goes to the people who answer the inbox.
• An application goes first to our hiring manager, who reviews every one. If you are cleared to interview, it then goes to the manager who runs the store you applied to. A company director can also see applications.
• Nobody outside Giant Communications Group is sent your application.

Cookies

This site sets a small number of its own cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

• Referral cookies (about 30 days): if you arrive from a store's referral link or a rep's code, we remember it so that store or rep is credited when you apply. If you do not use a referral link, these are never set.
• Sign-in cookies: only for our own managers signing into the staff portal. If you are a visitor or a candidate, you never get these.
• Language cookie: if you dismiss the offer to switch language, we remember that so we stop asking.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser. The only thing you lose is the referral credit to the store that sent you.

Who else handles this data

Two services, and only to do the job:

• Resend delivers our outgoing email, so confirmations and interview details pass through it.
• Google Workspace hosts our staff email, so a message you send us ends up in a Google-hosted mailbox.

The website itself and its database run on a server we rent and control. Resumes are stored on that server, outside the public web folder, reachable only by a signed-in manager.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

• Applications and resumes: while we are considering you, and then up to two years, so we can get back in touch if something opens up. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
• Contact messages: as long as the conversation is useful, then they go.
• Server logs: a short operational window.

Your choices

Email info@giantcommunicationsgroup.com and ask us to send you a copy of what we hold on you, correct it, or delete it. Say which email address you used so we can find it. There is no form to fill in and no account to create.

Children

This site is meant for adults looking for a store, a phone plan or a job. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security, honestly stated

The site runs over HTTPS, resumes sit outside the public web folder, and the staff portal is restricted to company Google accounts. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. We will not change what we do with data you already gave us without telling you.
